From Diasec® to Acrylux®
After 37 years of production under Diasec® licence, we now continue our expertise under our own brand, Acrylux®.
For 37 years, AuthenticPhoto produced under Diasec® licence. Today, we continue that accumulated experience, craftsmanship and technical development under our own brand Acrylux®.
On 2 November 1990, Authentic Brussels entered into an official licence agreement with Alrane Inventing AG of Liechtenstein for the production and sale of Diasec® products in Belgium.
The original 1990 Diasec® licence agreement is still preserved in the AuthenticPhoto archives.

Our milestones
From the official Diasec® licence to Acrylux® today
- 1990
AuthenticPhoto becomes an official Diasec® producer
The licence agreement marks the start of a long period in which AuthenticPhoto specialises in mounting and finishing photographic images behind acrylic.
- 1991
Our own invisible aluminium hanging systems
We develop our own 10/20 and 10/45 hanging systems, allowing finished works to be delivered ready to hang.
- 1995
The start of the digital era
AuthenticPhoto installs one of the first Durst Lambda systems. Digital image files can now be exposed directly onto photographic paper, significantly improving consistency and image quality.
- 1997
Hahnemühle introduces its first Digital Fine-Art papers
New Fine-Art papers open up additional possibilities for high-quality digital prints that can subsequently be mounted behind acrylic.
- 2000
Professional pigment printing with Epson
With systems including the Epson Stylus Pro 9500, AuthenticPhoto becomes an early adopter of professional pigment printing for photography and Fine-Art applications.
- 2002
Epson UltraChrome
The introduction of Epson UltraChrome marks another major step forward in image quality, colour stability and lightfastness. Pigment printing becomes increasingly central to our production.
- 2004
Full transition to Fine-Art pigment printing
AuthenticPhoto stops using chemically processed photographic paper and moves entirely to pigment printing with Epson inks on high-quality Fine-Art papers.
- 2008
Canson Infinity
With the arrival of Canson Infinity, we expand our Fine-Art paper range with additional surfaces, textures and white tones.
- 2009
Our own Fino-Art floater frames
We develop aluminium floater frames specifically designed for works mounted behind acrylic.
- 2010
Precision machining with Kongsberg
Our Kongsberg milling system allows panels and finishes to be produced with very high precision.
- 2015
Diamond polishing
The installation of a diamond polishing machine allows the edges of Plexi/Plexi constructions to be finished to a high-gloss standard.
- 2025
Flush-mounted finishing
We develop a finish in which image and frame visually form one clean, seamless whole.
- 2026
From Diasec® to Acrylux®
After 37 years of experience as a producer under Diasec® licence, we bring together our accumulated know-how, our own technical developments and our current production capabilities under one single brand: Acrylux®
Acrylux® builds on our long experience in photography behind acrylic, while being fully adapted to the materials and techniques we use today. We combine high-quality Fine-Art pigment prints with a wide selection of papers, including Hahnemühle and Canson, different types of acrylic, our own hanging systems, and a range of aluminium and wooden frame finishes. Over the years, we have also developed several of our own applications, including polished Plexi/Plexi constructions, flush-mounted framing and production possibilities for very large formats.
The name has changed. The experience remains.
Acrylux® is not a break with our Diasec® history, but the continuation of 37 years of experience in photography behind acrylic.
